Update: “Fairfax to buy BlackBerry for $4.7 billion”
“Anthony Michael Sabino, a professor at St. John’s University’s business school, said going private removes the burden of pleasing shareholders with short-term results […] He said Fairfax is known for patience in its investments, which would give BlackBerry time to regroup. “In all honesty, its fate is still uncertain, but at least now it has a fighting chance,” Sabino said.”

A few weeks ago I was seeking for a new Smartphone because I’m bored by Apple and it’s iOS, in the shop, i tried all type of brands with their operating systems and also the Z10 from blackberry, The navigation menu is very hard to understand althrough I’m used to smartphones…
My advice for them is to target the Super-luxe market of phones, like Vertu, they are all limited edition and It’s juste prestigious to have one of them, they play not on the OS but on the design of the device (inlaid with gold or diamonds). but BlackBerry should totally forget the large public, It will finish like Nokia if they continue, Apple and Google are too strong competitors, even in developping countries where they aren’t so good informed like us.
Or simply stop production in order to avoid making losses, because when their Z30 will going out there will be also new devices from competitors, and when you look at their price policy, BlackBerry is just too expensive fot what it is.
